I’m going . . .

When I arrived at work this morning, I knew today was going to be special. Our new office manager had an excerpt from Dr. Seuss’ “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!”:

“You’re off to Great Places!
Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting,
So… get on your way!”

It was a great quote to start the day – especially in the prime of our busiest time of year. I approached today with unequal vigor (a surprise since this is my 10th day in the office in a row – part of a 20-day stretch). It was a wonderful, productive day. I left the office with a spring in my step, grabbed the bus home, and was excited to sit down and commence with my Monday evening knitting. Then, I was greeted with a surprise.

I have been talking about starting a knitting blog for years – since 2008 to be exact. I’ve bounced around names, researched blogging hosting and software, and always had an excuse not to pull the trigger.

So, how did we get here?

My wonderful and ever-so-supporting boyfriend decided he was tired of me just talking about it. He sees how much creative happiness I ingest from my knitting, and thought this would be a tremendous outlet for me. I started getting daily massages knitting to relieve stress, and his linear brain thought this would be an excellent extension for further tension relief.

Will this work? I’m not sure – but I’m grateful for the push and opportunity to give it a try. Let’s see what the rest of 2013 will bring. At the very least, I’m exciting to see where my knitting will go!
